From a neutral perspective, Emraan Hashmi does not fit into the bill of a Bollywood hero at all. He looks ordinary (to be polite), cannot really act much, has rarely ventured out of his uncle's home productions and has only acted in mid-range films with mediocre heroines.

But, Emraan works. His film Jannat opened to better responses than Tashan or Bhoothnath, he commands a loyal fan following and seems to have helped his uncle Mahesh Bhatt recover most of the monies bet on him.
