The Saawariya premiere was nothing short of a grand red carpet event that a Sanjay Leela Bhansali Diwali release merits. Practically the entire industry was present barring of course SRK and his OSO team. Karan Johar however came in, to cheer his fellow star director. But surprise surprise! Bachchans also gave the premiere a skip. Wonder why! Is it Ash's uneasy equation with Bhansali or the fact that they were present at the OSO special screening?

However the initial reactions to the film have been extremely positive, at least if the celebs are to be believed. Choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant said "Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor perform like pros. They don't look like debutantes in any frame". In one word she said the film was "brilliant". But she also added, the film, is "if not his best, could ceratinaly be one of his best." TV star Rakshanda Khan was the compere for the evening and said, "Bhansali has made a totally different film, so comparing it to his past works is unfair".

And now the spoiler. Sonam does not actually end up with Ranbir Kapoor. This was revealed by a star who watched the premiere. But he added, "This makes the film quite refreshing!"

Now since the response to Om Shanti Om has also been spectacular the battle for the top spot doesn't seem to reaching its end anytime soon.
