Kamal's daughter gets footloose

Slowly but surely, both of Kamal Haasan's daughters have been carving a niche for themselves. We told you how the actor's older daughter Shruthi has done the playback for Mallika Sherawat in papa's Dasavathaaram. Not the one to be left far behind is her younger sister Akshara, who is training in Latin ballroom dancing. The 16 year old has just cleared the first bronze test in Latin ballroom dancing conducted by the UK Alliance of Professional Teachers Of Dancing.

And just if you are wondering why the teenager is working so hard at a performing art, it's because she wants to participate in the 2012 London Olympics. The mother of all sports events will for the first time have Latin Ballroom Dancing as a competitive sport and clearly Akshara has set her eyes at representing India there.

However to qualify, she has another four levels to clear in the next five years. And with her father's genes, Akshara surely seems set to make her mark.
