Tamil preview: Dasavathaaram

KS Ravikumar's grand venture features Kamal Haasan in ten different roles. The female lead Asin, plays a dual role. Kamal's characters is based in the 12th century. The whole shoot was completed in Chidambaram and they used as many as two-dozen elephants and horses. Another character is that of a scientist. The set for the research centre, where his character works has been set up in America. Eight out of the ten characters have been completed.

Mallika Sherawat is also featured opposite Kamal Haasan in a song sequence along with twenty other American dancers. The whole song sequence was shot in Malaysia and more than 80 cranes were used for the shoot. The shoot on the MAS Cargo 747 jet was kept under wraps and the make-up artist Mosher Had’s work made sure no one recognised Kamal who is a big star there.

Oscar Ravi Chandran has said this movie will definitely have a special place in the archives of Tamil movies. Also, according to cinematographer Ravi Verman, working with the team of Dasavathaaram was like studying in a new institution.
