Saawariya: INOX (Nariman Point, Mumbai) 10.30 am show
10.20 am: The plush multiplex has regular South Mumbai crowd with coloured hair and clutch bags queuing up outside the theatre.
10.35 am: Saawariya opens with a flourish, in true Bhansali style... but hold it! What's with the jhatak matak and the English town of the 1800s feel? Feels like Jack the Ripper will jump out any minute!
10.50 am: Oh gawd! they made Ranbir wear a earring!
10.58 am: Sonam is not a patch on Deepika... and oh, by the way half the theatre is empty.
11.01 am: People are riding in gondolas!
11.03am: EEKS! Sonam is so Bad!
11.04am: Sets are over the top! People are laughing at Ranbir. Looks like people like him a lot!
11.07 am: Sets are fake and very apparent. In some scenes Ranbir looks like Boy George of the 80s, especially with the earring!
11.11 am: It is a Hindu-Muslim love story
11.15am: People laughing at Zohra Sehgal's nun getup! Bhansali is seriously mad and eccentric!
11.19am: Almost all the men in the film are wearing at least one ear-ring. Ranbir is a singer.
11.30am: When salman comes on, he is greeted with cat calls, 'oohs!'
11.45am: Some people like Sonam, some hate her. But Ranbir is an universal hit. During interval some people are saying: The sets are so lavish and OTT, they look terribly fake. Others are laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. Some rows are actually empty.

12.30pm: Comment from someone in the audience. Both OSO and Saawariya are good in themselves. Each has its own charm. But people wondering why Sonam and Ranbir are wearing red velvet dupatta and jacket? They look like table cloths. Sonam has got gorgeous hair,unless it is a hair piece.
12.34pm: Bhansali has to be given credit for his lavish sets and vision for such grand translations of stories on the big screen.
12.37pm: Ranbir has got great lines. He is really good. Even Sonam is nice but she lacks Deepiak's magnetism.
12.39pm: We are not sure which era the movie is set in. Can someone put us out of this misery and tell us? Where is the story set? Which place?
12.42pm: Gawd! This is such trash!
12.45pm: Rani is so good! Why couldn't she be the heroine?
12.46pm: Aahaaha! Rani is a prostitute with a conscience. A regular character of Bhansali movies! Ranbir needs a haircut!
12.49pm: For first performances both Ranbir and Sonam are not bad. When Sonam smiles or laughs she looks like Katrina Kaif.
12.52pm: O No! Its snowing! Now all we need is Amitabh Bachchan to pop out of somewhere! Audience reaction: Bhansali has got away cheap. Whole film shot on same set and the actors are new.
12.56pm: Aww! cho chad Ranbir does not get Sonam. And Sallu is wearing the biggest earring of the all the men in the film! But why is Sallu lugging a punching bag as his knapsack? Makes him look more ridiculous than he already is!
1.00pm: Movie is over! People are all surprised! Ending leaves you high and dry.
1.04pm: One expected more! What was the point of the movie? What was the story? Every one chasing every one, that's it! No depth, says one person. What was that! Lady in the crowd says Sonam should have stayed with Ranbir. People looking each other and wondering, that's it? Second half only 35 minutes. Rani's character had nothing to it. Crowd is stunned with the abruptness of it all.

Sawariya is a film made only for the classes not for the
entire indian crwod, since it requires a lot of depth and
intellectual to understand the beautiful subject to be very
frank. Its a wonderful film made and appreciate all the
subjects written and shown on screen by mr. Sanjay bhansali.
The actors have made a very honest attempt and very good as
a stepping stone to start with. If you ask me , how the
movie was , i would defenitely say it as good, and rest
apart from the hindimovie malasala mix which we get to see
all the time. This is for mr. Bhansali ---sir i am a big fan
of yours and love your compositions too. When black was
released many people had wrong notions about it too and now
for sawariya also. But, its a wonderful movie and subject
witha touch of an intertnational flavour.

Yes, i agree the movie was fake. I expected the movie to be
very good. These are the faults that movie had:
1. Whole movie view was dark (no day light in movie).
While watching i almost went to sleep.
2. Ranbir was very cute only at places he was over acting
other wise he is a awesome actor and has lot of potential.
Sonali also was very cute.
3. The story of the movie was bad it did not make any
sense. Specially the end schene.
Saawariya waste of money! Sets are fake, actors cant act to
save their life! Ranbir is g**, rani n sallu the savin
grace....
